POKER TECHNICAL POINTS

Introduction

Expert poker play draws on multiple diverse areas of knowledge. In this section I touch on several. Some of these essays point to common mistakes. After all, a good portion of knowing how to play well is knowing what not to do. It is remarkable how often many fairly good players  make sill6y plays when they should know better. I think sometimes this is because despite the being decent players they lack of a solid grounding in poker theory

They are therefore able to rationalize doing thing that a better-informed player would know without doubt were costly. In the essays that focus on these errors I try to provide the logic that shows why they are wrong. Two essays here much on what can be learned by observing your opponents. If you combine all such observations, including those that would qualify as tells and those of a more general online poker, then certainly some significant chunk of your profits are derived from these observations. I have tried in the essay on tell detestability to quantify what you might earn as a result of specific tells. As you will see, this figure may be a little less than most of us would like to believe.
